These are available in BBOS too.
There is a built-in substitution, "ld", for "Long Date", that expands to Thu , Apr 15 , 2013. The code that produces it is "%D". But you can create a short date sub if you use the "%d" code instead, and you'll get 4/18/2013, which is sometimes handier.
You can do a similar thing with the "lt" sub, for "Long Time", 10:07:24 PM. The short format excludes secs.
