transfer calender from 5.1 to BB10?

I've tried my best to follow other threads that mention making an outlook or gmail account to link the calender to transfer, but I'm not having any luck. All my calender stuff was put under my hotmail account, but i cant seem to find how to transfer to my gmail account thru my phone.
Also as a side question, BB Link transfers data (general option), is there a way to only transfer items such as memos, contacts, and apps? Everything else I've managed to due thru microsd.
