Is there an alternative to Voice Assistant for BB10 users?

If so, what is it called & where do I get it? Is it an Android app that need to patched? I tried Iparrot & SayIt. If these are the only ones, does anybody know how to make them work well enough to be a replacement?

Obviously, I am trying to get my apps ready for BB10's Doomsday 2020. Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Do you agree or disagree? Is Android enough for you? What apps does the business professionals who are coming from BB10 need to get acquainted with?

If Android is not good enough, what is missing? What does BlackBerry need to do to make the business professional productive again? Would there ever be a need for BB11 OS?

Verizon 10.3.3.2129 Constantly Updating

I am a long-time Q10 user (on my 4th). I recently switched because my previous Q10 was broken. Loaded everything. On day 2, I received an update notification (10.3.3.2129). No problem since device had been sold 5 years ago! Diligently waited for the update to load and restart the Q10. Everything looked normal other than I had to reload my e-mail etc. Since then, it downloads the same update EVERY DAY. I went through with the restart a few times but it does not seem to change anything, other then erasing some minor apps.

What is recommended? I have already turned off notification but I would like to get a permanent fix.

BTW: Windows Link can connect but no synchronization possible. Not sure if this is related to problem above.

Maybe there is a big clean up with the servers at BlackBerry... Today arrived OS10.3.3.3126 OTA on my Passport SE and my Classic in Germany (Vodafone).

Why WhatsApp developer decide to left the bb10 with platform ? They should be leave the app as open source on this platform ...I didn't understand why the Facebook's staff did not permit to use API and so we can create native app on bb10 !

Can't unlock phone after OS 10.3.3.2137 upgrade

Hello,
My BlackBerry Passport was set to automatically download OS upgrades so it just upgraded to the latest 10.3.3.2137.

But it's a nightmare ! The unlock screen doesn't work anymore so each time the phone locks itself up, I can't unlock it and I am left with no option but to reboot. Also, I can't remove the screen lock either, I can't change the phone password and the parental controls can't be accessed anymore. So hard to find a work around.
I tried Google and this forum but found barely one message about this bug and no solution.

I tried to unbox a spare Passport that I had. It upgraded to the latest OS version first thing and there's that very same bug. So I guess reloading a backup won't solve it.

Any clues ?

Hi!

There are a couple of q5s and q10s that were company phones, and in great shape, could easy be reusable, but the blackberry protect is active, and of course we don't know the passwords. Why would we, life would be too easy. Is there a way to switch it off? Autoloader maybe? Would be a shame to scrap the phones...

Q10 - will not turn on after autoloader update

Hi there,

I have a BB Q10 and recently got the bb10-015 error when doing a security wipe. I found a suggested "fix" that required to download and run an autoloader. I found them here:

My BB model is SQN100-1, so those are the autoloaders I used - and I used them all, one at a time. They seem to load the software on my device, but after the loading is completed, my BB displays word "Blackberry" - the start-up screen, and goes no further, gets stuck there...

Any idea what am I doing wrong and what should I do to fix it?

BBM - WTF

Apologies for the clickbait title. I am setting up a new Passport - all well, until I attempted to use the Crackberry app (yay), which requires me to login to BBM. When I open BBM, I am met with a red error dialogue, which reads 'temporary server error'.

Having searched this on the BB knowledge Base, I have found a heinous article, which suggests that, since I paid good money to try out Blackberry Android, I can no longer use my existing BBID to use BBM on BB10. I need to wipe my Passport and start again with a new BBID.

Is this correct? If so, I can't be the only one in this boat - what is the best workaround?

Confused whith mp3 id tags on Q10 and Z10

I hope I do not annoy you with too many questions.

OK. I have an mp3 collection with about 2600 songs. These I have assigned the id-tags 1,2 and 3 with Kid3 (which is a great program, by the way).

The strange thing is that on the pc (with vlc or what else) everything works. The covers are displayed immediately from the net.

On the Z and Q10, however, only 3 of the 2600 are displayed with cover. Everything that seemed logical to me did not work. They all have the same tags generated with Kid3. Even android vlc on the BBs shows very little and when, in bad quality. Maybe a bit more than the BB player but also very bad (much to big). Could it be a rendering problem? I guess not because three ones are working.

I've also compared the media data with a graphics program of the 3 working and the not functioning files (with assingning local images to the tags). All images are technically the same. Again, that works perfect on the pc but the BBs show nothing. And it's all just a copy. Same directory structure.

Imagine this with 2600 files in the list:

Does someone here has an idea what the problem could be?

How to clear the pp phone of setup screens

Greetings all! It seems I have thrown $200us away. I recently purchased a new passport with intention to use it strictly offline. I did not register it with bb. I didnt update os. Only thing i did was download drivers to use sd card. It was always displaying notification to complete setup which i clicked to snooze. Whats more I put the phone to airline mode. I did set the alarm to ring, a huge reason for its use.

After an alarm bell was clicked off blindly some how the phone rolled into setup mode and now is bricked saying it need a connection to the internet while being connected to a private internet connected modem and with activated tm card installed.

When I restart the phone it goes straight to setup mode, no password screen. Can the phone be salvaged. Thanks for your help in any way.
