I recently bought a MS1020 activity tracker from
www.wish.geek.com. Although it does have an app to sync stats, the app is not needed. When I first downloaded the app to my blackberry passport, it would open but not find the smart band, so I couldn’t pair it to the app on my phone.
After much searching on Google, I found that a lot of android users were having the same problem. I had thought that it wouldn’t sync because of my blackberry passport phone.
Anyway, if you have purchased a cheap activity tracker and downloaded the app but it won’t work with your bb 10os, here is how I solved it.
Firstly, let me say that the problem with the app not finding my phone, it think, is because the most recent version was for android 4.4 and my passport is only android 4.3. I was able to install an older version of the app, but it was not able to find the watch to pair with it.
I solved this problem by doing the following.
1. From your computer, download the most recent version of the app. (To learn how to do that here is one way and a video to show you...
)
2. From your cell phone, open up google play store and download apk editor. (It does not need to be patched). Then install it on your phone.
3. On your BB10 phone, enable Blackberry blend. Now enable it on your computer, provided you already have it on your computer. (If you don’t already have Blackberry blend on your computer, install it.)
4. Once your bb is connected to your computer, transfer the YOHO Sports app that you downloaded on your computer in step 1 to your bb BUT DO NOT try to install it because you won’t be able to.
5. Open apk editor and click on “Select apk from app” and scroll down until you see “YOHO Sports” and click on that.
6. Now click on “Common Edit”. Now scroll down just a bit and under Version Code, put “7”. For Version Name put “1.0.7”. And for Minimum SDK version, change it to “18”. Click SAVE.
7. Now click install. You should now be able to open the app and the app on your phone should now be able to pair or “bound” with your watch.
8. Just so you know, when the smart band and phone app are paired and connected, it drains your phone’s battery fast. So I would suggest not keeping them connected and maybe just connecting them and syncing them in the evening or once a day.
Hope this helps for anyone who is interested.
