Calendar App on BB10 acting up

Hi all,

So I got a little situation here with my calendar app. I was trying too connect my phone to this rental car I had and do a few other things, the BlackBerry Passport SE started to heat up quickly and slowed down.

I decided to turn off the phone and let it cool down, restart etc.

Once I did that, the calendar appointments and meetings seem to have disappeared from all the days. Ironically though the notification of the upcoming events pop up in the Hub and screen and when the reminder is due.

Anyway I can get the appointments back? How do I fix this problem?

Microsoft retiring Office Mobile app

For any BlackBerry 10 die hards still using the Office Mobile app, Microsoft has announced that they are retiring Office support for all versions of KitKat and Lollipop at the end of this month.

The Office mobile apps for Android, will be ending support for Android 4.x (KitKat) and 5.x (Lollipop) on June 30, 2019. Starting on this date, users with devices running on KitKat, Lollipop or older versions of Android will stop receiving app updates. We recommend that your users upgrade to a newer version of Android.

Note: Outlook for Android will continue to support Android KitKat 5.x (Lollipop) until December 31, 2019. After this date, if you are using a device running an older version of Android, you can access your email and calendar by using the mobile web version of Outlook.

[How does this affect me?]

Users who do not upgrade Android in their devices will be able to continue using the Office apps with limited reliability but will not receive any feature or security updates. If they delete the apps they won't be able to download them again until they update their device to a newer Android version.

[What do I need to do to prepare for this change?]

We recommend that users upgrade their version of Android or access email and calendar using the mobile web version of Outlook.

Failed test of BlackBerry Protect

I went to test BlackBerry Protect this afternoon, as I do each month as part of my security testing, and, I was unable to complete two tasks:
1) display a message on my phone.
2) Force the phone to ring with the "loud" profile.

I didn't continue testing at that point, but I wonder if I could have remote wiped my phone or flagged it as stolen.

Lots of references to the bar file and associated yeah.so for flashbrowser.1.0.0.23 in crackberry and on the web. Somewhere I got v.1.0.0.24 but can't find where, now. Can anybody please provide a link? And to yeah.so if also re-versioned? And is there a v.25 or later still?

Just downloaded, installed and run Glympse Express v.1.03 from apkpure. Previously v.1.01. Working well.
Still can't find any version of daddy version Glympse that works on BB10. Anybody?

Syncing Remember notes via Exchange (EAS) not working?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to sync BB10 Remember's notes via Exchange Active Sync to the Notes app on my Apple devices but I can't get it working.

I do a lot of writing for my work and I've been neck deep in the Apple ecosystem since the PowerPC days, so switching is not an option for me. I've always loved BlackBerry handsets and I really like the 9900/Q10/Q20 style physical keyboards. A couple years back I bought a Q10 to use as a portable note-taking and writing device, because I could take it with me anywhere and write whenever the inspiration came to me. I used the native Blackberry 'Connect to Dropbox' app to sync everything I wrote on the Q10 to Dropbox from which I could access it on my Macs for proper formatting and getting the real work done.

I recently bought a brand new BlackBerry Classic (still sealed what a delight), I had done my research and knew that the native Dropbox, Evernote, OneDrive options were all broken at this point and that BB10 itself would soon be EOL. Obviously an Android Blackberry would be more capable, but I much prefer the keyboard on the Classic and its overall form factor and design evokes a strong sense of fond nostalgia in me. I decided to go with the Classic and sync my writing from Remember to my Apple devices native 'Notes' app via EAS.

Anyway I set up an Outlook.com account on the Classic via EAS and the same exchange account is configured on my iPhone/iPad/Macs. Emails are working perfectly but none of my notes are syncing. I cant get anything I write in Remember to appear in Notes on my Apple devices for love or money.

As an experiment I bought a $200 Android phone and set up the same Outlook.com account via EAS on it and wrote some notes and those notes from the Android device appear on my iPhone and Mac instantly. So the problem is clearly on the BB10 side.

Am I doing something wrong? Does BB10 still support syncing Notes via Exchange?

Ideally I'd really like anything I write in Remember to sync to my Notes app on iOS/MacOS. But is there some other workaround I could use to sync the notes, just so I can enjoy the Classic's awesome keyboard?

I searched the forums extensively but couldn't find anything to resolve my issue.

Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to offer some assistance.

GPU Benchmarks Z10 100-1 / 100-2

This is interesting: From the feeling the 100-1er is much more faster than the 100-2. So I have tried the Relative Benchmark app from BBW to check if there's any big difference. I have done a reset before. Apps on all phones and config is the same (if possible).

Z10 STL100-1: 1280x768 - 405
Z10 STL100-2: 1280x768 - 698

Further on the score of the Q10 SQN100-3: 720x720 - 1286 (wow:))
And the Passport SQW100-1: 1440x1440 - 1340

I know this is only the GPU but that those two are so different is surprising.
The points were generated by that app.

Usually happy to test previous versions when "Unable to install" current version of anything, but options for YouTube are bewildering. Can anybody point me easily to latest, or any, working version, please?
(Mobile link is fine but just thinking installed apk might be better.)

Moved encrypted pictures. Now cannot open.

Hello. I took some pictures with my Passport running the latest OS.
I had to get a copy of the pictures from the encrypted SD and I could not mount the drives via link. So, I used the usb storage option from settings and the SD mounted immediately.
Unfortunately, I moved the pictures to the PC and of course I realized that I could not open them since they were encrypted. So I moved them back to the SD. Now I cannot open them not even from the passport.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

How are you making good use of your BB10 device other than using it as a doorstop/paper weight?

Will the stock apps be enough to make it something like an over glamours alarm clock and secure storage device? What else?

I gave my PlayBook to a friend, though I kinda want it back.
